Ruff ... Lyme disease prevention is up to you, so: Wear white
or light colored clothing when you go outside so you can see
the ticks. Tuck your shirt into you pants and your pants into
your socks. Then have your parents spray you with bug repellent.
Last but not least, check yourself for ticks every day.
Ruff ... Oh yeah! And, don't forget to protect and check your
pets too! For more information about Lyme disease write to the

7. 30 sec. - Tick Kit (Karen Vanderhoof-Forschner,
Chair, Board of Directors, LDF, outdoors on picnic blanket)
Proper tick removal can prevent tick transmitted diseases such
as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, or Relapsing Fever.
If you spend time outdoors make your own tick kit - with a repellent,
a pair of tweezers, a small vial, and antiseptic - all in one
little bag. To remove a tick use fine point tweezers, placed
around the tick's mouthparts - as close to the skin as possible,
and gently pull the tick out. Place the tick in a vial with a
blade of grass - so it can be tested. Then clean your skin and
the tweezers with antiseptic. This message is from the Lyme Disease
Foundation.
8. 10 sec. - Lyme Affects Everyone (Karen Vanderhoof-Forschner,

get a distinct rash. Late disease can cause heart, joint or brain
infection. For more information contact the Lyme Disease Foundation.
