Thomas Forschner
is cofounder of the LDF and has donated over 3,000 hours of volunteer
service to the organization. Executive Director since 1990, he
has 24 years of business experience, including nonprofit expertise.
He decided to co-found the LDF in order to find the answers to
a disease that was killing his son Jamie. Although Jamie died
in 1991, Tom continues his work at the LDF, knowing that he is
helping to make the world a healthier, safer place.
Formerly,
as First Vice President and Assistant Corporate Controller at
Northeast Savings, he was responsible for managing the accounting
and financial reporting functions for the $8 billion bank. Forschner
also served as Chief Financial Officer of the Consumer Lending
Division, and as Vice President of Special Financial Projects.
Prior to this he held various positions with the international
accounting firm Peat Marwick, where he participated in a special
2 year partnership training rotation at the Executive Office
in New York City.
Tom has a
BA from Muskingum College and an MBA from Xavier University.
He is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public
Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He is the Secretary of the LDF Board of Directors, where he serves
as a nonvoting member. |
