John F. Anderson
Director, Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station


Dr. John Anderson has published numerous scientific articles regarding Lyme Disease and other tick-spread disorders. He is a frequent lecturer on the subject of tick vectors and reservoirs of the LD bacterium. In 1989, his team discovered a new strain of the LD spirochete. In 1995, Dr. Anderson discovered a new Borrelia that was named Borrelia andersoni. He also helped develop one of the first serologic test for LD.

Dr. Anderson received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, and participated in fellowships at Louisiana State University and the University of Illinois. He cochaired an LDF International Scientific Conference and has been active on various LDF Committees. The CT Agricultural Experiment Station has been the taping location for several LDF educational videos.
